Course information for Term 4 2017
Term 4 begins on 10th October 2017.
Each course runs for 6 weeks.
Maximum 6 students per class.
Wheel throwing techniques are taught. A week by week course outline can be emailed upon request. Classes are a mix of beginner, intermediate and advanced students. This course is suitable for absolute beginners as well as for students with more experience. The levels are designed to be repeated in order to increase skill level on the wheel.
The Pottery Learning Centre is based in Derrimut in the Western Suburbs (near Deer Park). The address is 30/ 82 Makland Dr Derrimut.
Materials covered by the course fee include use of pottery equipment, one bag of clay, basic essential pottery tools, decorating material, some glazes and firing of the pottery produced by students during class time.
Students throw between 10-15 ceramic vessles/ bowls on the pottery wheel that they also glaze during the 6 weeks. Students pick up their ceramics one week after the course has ended after it has been fired.
The cost of the six week course is $380. This amount is non-refundable 1 week prior to the commencement of the course. Payment must be processed before the term begins to confirm your booking.
Studio access is available for students who do not require the help of a teacher. Equipment is provided, however students need to purchase their own materials, tools, and pay for firing.
Students are required to bring:
1. An apron, and a bath towel.
2. Dress in appropriate clothing (clay is messy), and warm clothes in winter
3. Wear closed-in footwear
